Greenwood / Cypress Grove / St. Patrick’s Cemeteries in Mid City – New Orleans

At the end of the Canal St. streetcar line is a group of cemeteries in the Mid City neighborhood of New Orleans. Greenwood Cemetery opened in 1852 to help inter the thousands who died from yellow fever. According to nolacemeteries.com, Greenwood was the first New Orleans cemetery built without walls.
